Assurance Wireless free and low-cost cell plans



Assurance Wireless is similar  to the SafeLink program, but is maintained by Virgin Mobile.  The required qualifications for the low-income program are also comparable to SafeLink.  If you receive Foodstamps or are enrolled in a program such as Section 8, LIHEAP, or other low-income program, and need a low-cost cell phone, this might be worth looking into.

This August 24, 2012 article on the RepublianHerald.com website indicates that 30 counties have applied to be part of the state’s trial program for the human  services block grant.  The article doesn’t include all the counties that applied, but does show that only 20 counties will be selected for the pilot program.

This August 23, 2012 article found on the Philly.com website talks about a recent study that may show that spirituality may have a positive impact on mental health, one aspect listed that kind of stood out was how it seems to create a situation where people are able to develop a broader perspective and see not just their needs and desires, but also allows them to begin to see the needs and desires of the world around them and may allow them to be less self-centered.

In my opinion, this study should serve as a reminder to us all, that doctors are humans, and as such, they need to be given emotional support just like the rest of us.
