This August 9, 2012 article on the Huffington Post website talks about recent
studies indicating a rise in the prescribing of Anti-psychotic medication to teens and children with ADHD then had been seen in earlier years. It seems like the researchers aren’t clear about why there has been an increase, but they suggest it may have something to do with an increase in the number of meds available or that more kids are being diagnosed with ADHD or Autism Spectrum disorder then what we have seen before. I’m not real sure what to think, other than it is an interesting article, but I don’t know enough to form an educated opinion on the subject.
