“Emotional toll taxes military drone operators too”

Article Link

This September 29, 2014 The Sentinel article on the cumberlink.com website talks about the mental impact that operators of drone missions are experiencing.  The mental health issues being seen include depression, anxiety and even PTSD in some operators.  The military has started to attach psychologists and chaplains to drone units in addition to adjusting the shifts worked by the operators in an effort to decrease the impact missions have on them.  The article indicates that what is seen by the operators is more than “just a video game” and can create moral injuries in addition to mental injuries the same as combat on the front lines of battle can produce.
