This November 7, 2014 NewsWorks article talks about a pilot program in Delaware County, PA that is working with people with mental illnesses using self-directed care that offers them more choices about the services they receive.  The person can say this service isn’t working for me, but I think this over here might be a better fit to meet my needs, and the money from the program is shifted to allow for the change in service.

This July 26, 2014 Daily Times News article from Delaware County, PA, talks about legislation being proposed by state Rep. Margo Davidson that, at first glance, seems to be very similar to what Rep. Tim Murphy has proposed.  Like Murphy’s bill, Davidson’s bill includes things like assisted outpatient treatment and other services for the seriously mentally ill.

This October 15, 2013 article found on the Patriot-News powered Penn Live website in Central Pennsylvania, explains why voters will be asked for ID at the coming election, but NOT required in most cases to present it.  the long-standing rule about someone who is a first time voter at their assigned polling place will still apply.  Voters who have voted at their assigned polling place before will be asked for id, but NOT required to show it.  The new Voter ID law is still on hold by order of the state Supreme Court. This April 6, 2013 opinion piece found on the Delaware County Daily Times website offers a view supporting the expansion of Medicaid in Pennsylvania.  It makes a lot of sense to me and I thought it was worth sharing here.
