This December 26, 2014 PennLive – The Patriot-News, article talks about the problems occurring with the transition from Medicaid to Gov. Corbett’s Healthy PA which is his Medicaid expansion alternative plan.

This December 19, 2014 The Patriot-News article talks about a huge glitch that is effecting people with mental health and/or addition issues who are on medicaid.  Apparently, the “glitch” is preventing agencies from getting paid for services provided to the folks in need of treatment, this means either they have to pay out of pocket, or the agency has to either eat the cost of the services or deny services to the person.  The article explains it better, but basically it means Corbett’s expansion plan has a huge flaw in the transition and the people paying the price for it are those with mental health or addiction issues.

This July 27, 2012 article found on the Philly.com website continues to raise the question of whether Governor Tom Corbett has made any progress or even attempted to find alternative options for folks who are losing their General Assistance benefit this month.

This July 20, 2012 article found on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette website, talks about reasons why Gov. Corbett should expand Medicaid in Pennsylvania.  Some reasons listed in the article include things like it would help prevent the spread of infections disease, because people would be more likely to get medical care if they had insurance.

This article dated June 29, 2012 on WITF.com discusses the 30 extension for folks in Pennsylvania on General Assistance.  recipients should be able to receive cash assistance until the end of July with August 1, 2012 being the new date for the elimination of the program.
