This article on Psych Central was last reviewed on June 12, 2015 and discusses a recent study that could offer hope to women in menopause who experience executive function based cognitive issues, not attributed to any other condition, could benefit from medication used to treat ADHD to improve their ability to act effectively with regards to executive function.  The symptoms seen are very similar to those experienced by people with ADHD.

“Study Suggests Mental ‘Fog’ of Menopause Is Real”

This article dated March 20, 2012 found on Philly.com, talks about recent studies that show that the “Mental fog” women typically face during menopause is probably a normal thing.  based on the article, they think that it might be caused by changes in Estrogen that effect memory, but unfortunately are next to impossible to measure.  the good news is that menopause related fogginess appears to be temporary.
