This article posted within 10 minutes before I found it on June 25, 2012 on the Chester County Daily News website talks about one story of many depicting the lives that will be directly affected by the loss of general assistance and describes how general assistance can mean the difference between life and death for some.

This article was about 7 hours old when I posted it here, it is dated June 25, 2012 and found on the Philly.com website.

I had known it was something at risk, but hadn’t heard it had been eliminated until I got up this morning and happened to be talking to a couple of my neighbors who are among those directly effected by the elimination of General Assistance.
