“Primary Care Providers May Balk at Giving Teens Antidepressants”

This January 15, 2014, Health Day article found on the Philly.com website talks about research indicating that pediatricians tend to be uncomfortable with prescribing antidepressants to teens with moderate or severe depression.  The researchers found that the more knowledgeable a pediatrician was about depression, the more likely they were to consider prescribing antidepressants those with less knowledge were likely to be more reluctant to prescribe them to teens who are depressed.
