This September 12, 2014, Newsworks article, talks about signage being put n place in Montgomery county to help prevent suicides.  The signs encourage people in need of help to call the National Suicide prevention hotline.  While the article does say that there is no way to quantify the effectiveness of the signs, they do know that other places who have posted similar signs have seen a decrease in the number of suicides on bridges, so while no exact number is available, it is felt that offering information to the public does help with preventing suicides.

This August 10, 2-13 article on the Times Herald website talks about Montgomery County’s Emergency Services joining the National Suicide Hotline.  They will still be available through their direct number which is listed in the article.
