“Exercise May Help Ease Depression in Teens: Study”

This Health Day article found on the Philly.com website on November 10, 2013 talks about research that indicates exercise is beneficial to teens diagnosed with depression.  The research shows a decrease in the severity of depression in teens who exercise.

This April 6, 2013 article on the Meadville Tribune website talks about a program that was started by a teen who had lost a friend to suicide.  The program is called “Aevidum Empowered by Minding Your Mind” or simply Aevidum for short.  I was impressed that a teen came up with this idea and is supported by their family in their endeavors.

This article published on December 27, 2011 on the Lehigh Valley Morning Call, discusses a program being offered by The Weller Health Education Center in Easton who is working with Capital Blue Cross to offer a depression awareness program to high school teens to help break down stigma and increase the chance that teens can get help if they need it.
